I am only giving this school 2 stars, considering I appreciate the professors and the knowledge they provide.
The only inclination I have against this school is the fact that I have had to bounce around back and forth with financial aid. First of all, they ended up submitting all of my payments to my bank account and then told me I needed to pay it back, which they submitted the funds to pay for classes. Now I was responsible for their mess up and owed the amount they gave me. Stating they ,"paid me too much."
I finally got that resolved, but to my own discretion, they would tell me they can't give me full funds for one class since I need to take at least 5 credits.
I work full time and go and balance school. Some people can take multiple classes, but I can't. Now they tell me I may not be funded at all.
If it wasn't for me doing all online and appreciating the professors, I wouldn't continue getting my education here. Do yourself a favor to those who plan to apply here, don't do it.
I am honestly tempted to transfer my credits back to Edmonds Community College, but since I live so far, it makes it hard.
Great boxing event! Fun for all ages. Fun, great food, and well managed
MMA / KickBoxing competition 11/19/2022. My first time, in support of our gym buddy at Anytime Fitness Elma, a great kick boxer! The venue was SRO by the time of the Main Event. Very nice facility with good views of the competition. 2 thumbs up!
In the state of Washington there are only five OTA school programs. My suggestion is not to enroll here. With the exception of a few professors who were very knowledgeable and kind, there are others who only seem to care about the program stats and its reputation.
Long story short, I "failed" my second quarter by a few points (meaning a 70, give or take), and instead of meeting up to provide constructive criticism, I had to be a part of Zoom chat where all but maybe one teacher asked to basically tell them why I sucked so badly that I failed their program. During my midterm eval, my mentoring professor actually told me she didn't see me passing this quarter, which is not the mentorship I needed. Not to mention, this is all happening during quarantine, where everyone is online and remote, and very difficult to do things hands-on as a result, with no room for grace. Instead of supporting and facilitating like teachers -- and OTP's! -- are supposed to do, they hound you over every single assignment and make you accountable of every breath you take. They came off as unapproachable, haughty, and disinterested in your personal life. It doesn't matter how inexpensive this program is compared to others, it's just not worth it. It had me questioning my worth and my potential to be good at something I was really enjoying, because they took the joy out of it. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere: this is not worth your time or money.
**Two stars for Roberta Kim and Lisa Roberts who never made me feel I was a waste of time. Thank you both.
I used to study here two years years ago, these college is very expensive, now I'm at nursing school in other so for comparison. In my new college, process is easy, I get BOOKS FOR FREE FROM MY TUTION. In green river? You HAVE TO BUY OR REN IT FOR A FULL PRICE.
I am not a student, so I cannot attest to the college itself, but the forest lands are an excellent refuge. The trail system is impressive, well groomed with something for everyone. There a bluff trails with views, steep wooded ravine trails, and river front paths. The signage is okay with sporadically placed maps. Overall a great experience at this campus!
My wife had emergency surgery, and I was not able to make the backflow test today. I was told that I have to repay for it. I tried to talk to a supervisor about this medical emergency and was given the reason because they are a state agency. She reports to Washington State Department of Health, who by her statement does not seem to care when there is a medical emergency. Even when a woman can't lift her 7 month old child, she can't be left at home alone with the baby.
This is my current school. I am going here to get my associates degree in applied science and water quality. I love the Natural Resources staff they are like family. Everyone is so nice students and staff. They school the teachers everyone sets you up to succeed. It also has the most beautiful classroom for natural resources. The college has over 100 some acres of trails and natural beauty for us to learn in. I am truly blessed .
